Slackin in my craft mackin, I have not left my post here at this magnificent crafty soapbox known as CraftCrap. Along with the holiday season being in full effect I've been what you call busy. In between breathing and pooping, I have visited the local craft Mecca: Joann's. Even hit up the after Thanksgiving sale there and was so overwhelmed with deals it has motivated me to put on my Kevlar winter gear and challenge the crowds @ the after Christmas sales going down. A new sewing machine (like I need one)? One of those Cricuts these pintrest bitches be having? Anything is posíble! I got hella posts to post but until then, salivate on this:

My "TED" needed sum TLC
I just saw (parts) TED the other day. And while I kinda understood the plot line from the ear hustling I was doing from my desk, there was one thing for certain I could relate to. For my whole little life on this planet I've had a furry co-pilot to stand by my side and endure my struggles and joys. As old as me, my homie Fredrick has seen some shit, so it broke my heart to watch his latest days turn dismal with a broken arm.
It's been hard to get a chance to fix him because all my lil ones require my every waking moment. Teething. Pooping. Barfing. Yeah. I've been busy. It only took 5 mins to change my huggy bear's life but what a difference it made. My heart warmed up honestly seeing him put back together. I remember when I was kid telling my mom if I died she had to put him in the coffin with me and i can't see that request changing. This January we will be seeing our 30th birthday and my hope is to survive another 30 años w/the only homie who really knows what my farts, tears and dreams are all about.

¡Craft Contests!
I love a freebie. Who the hell doesn't honestly? This blog isn't sponsored by anyone but my crafty lil hands and the crap in my creative zone, so when I see an easy-2-participate sweepstakes opportunity, I run to the bathroom to hide from my kids so I can fill out the contest form! I MUST WIN!
Unfortunately I have yet to win...EVER! I remain optimistic that my time will come buy until then I keep filling out comment sections and peeping contest rules till something comes through. I mean the probability of winning at some point should swing this way eventually. Right?
Regardless, here is a listing of a few contests going on.
(F.Y.I I'm not responsible for how these contest work, nor am I affiliated w/any company to promote these contests. I am Merely a player in the same game as you!)

¡Blank Canvas!: Target Edition
The hubby and I picked up these gems for the low low price of $9.99 at the red dot spot. Both were found in the men's department, along w/some other shirts worthy of purchase if the wallet could sustain it. I wanted to share them w/you gorgeous folks because as any real CraftCrap Queen knows: a tshirt is a great canvas for all types of awesome projects. I'll be posting more blank canvases w/some floating ideas I have as to what's gonna happen w/them. I think my Big Lebowski shirt needs some studs and a sleeve cut... The hubby's tee...Well I'll just have to eye phuck it with creative ideas till I get my own because it's doubtful he'll be into a fringed studded Einstein piece :)
Would love to see your guys fav/new blank canvases, so post em up in the comments section!!

¡I didn't disappear!
I don't know that anyone actually peeks at this blog. It's a blog world and I just live in it! I've been busy, But today I did something that maybe you wish you did or will do in the future by giving your sandals/thongs/slippas a few more miles when they seem like they won't make it down the street: BREAD TAGS!
No glue needed and great if your on a weekend excursion to the beach and that sandal breaks! Ransack your picnic staples and find that Bread Tag! Slip that lil bitch on the stem part of the sandal (as seen in the pic), an keep the party going!
Can't say this was all my idea, saw it on Pintrest (¡so addicted!) and tried it myself. Enjoi the knowledge Bishes!

¡Hippie Headband In 3, 2, 1!
Ingredients:
-18 1/4-1/2"* Elastic Band ( I used what I had,1/2" but I've read 1/4" is awesome too)
*Based on an adult head. I have a fairly decent sized noggin so I'd use the extra 1/2" gladly.)
- Hot Glue (goes way faster!)/Fabric Glue (think dry time!)
- Needle & Thread
- Decorative Crap (Ie. fake flowers, hot wheels, bows, gems.)
- Small rectangle of felt/fabric
- Sharpies (Optional)
Step ¡Uno!:
After fitting the elastic band to your cabeza, place one end of the elastic band over the other end and using your needle and thread, stitch a few quick stitches to secure the ends together. BAM!
Step ¡Dos!:
Now, grab your glue of choice and that small rectangle-ish shape piece of material (I say "ish" because this piece can be a piece of scrap fabric, thus not perfect). Sandwich the stitched area of the elastic band in between the piece of fabric and glue both sides of the material to the stitched elastic band. (This covers the stitched area and also builds a base for your CraftCrap.)
¡FINALMENTE: Step Tres!:
Get the CraftCrap & preferred adhesive because its a go! Decorate to all you hearts desires ;D I say flowers are an easy/awesome treat for this project, but I listed hot wheels because it sounded like a cool idea at the time.
Show out like the crafty bish you are & look all kawaii and shiz too!

¡Craft Porn-Update!
Member that Wallyworld splurge I posted a few weeks ago? You member!?!
Here's the (almost) final products of both yardages (My first REAL attempts at sewing WEARABLE clothing from a pattern-kinda.) I think the measuring tape shorts could use some black pockets and I'm afraid of doing too much more to the cowboy shorts. Instead of doing elastic band top (which is how G'ma showed me to do these shorts), I decided I'd go with a drawstring effect on both sides of the hips so i could add a lil zazz to the strings themselves (beads, charms, etc.) The red pockets are keepin things together with some velcro and E6000, an easy go to when your a beginner/novice clothes maker just looking for a way to make a project awesomer. With a couple of slip stitches on these bad bishes: Es todo!

¡Extreme Clutch MakeOver!
My darling baby hermana swooped a couple cute purses for me at a local giveaway. One was to replace my ginormous Hello Kitty bag that resembles luggage rather than a purse and as it turns outs the gorgeous mombag she grabbed was of Betsey Johnson origins! Schweeet!!!
The 2nd bag was more like a bonus piece as it came with its own dust bag and was in near perfect condition. I shouldn't even call this a bag because any regular fashionista knows its really called a Clutch. A few weeks ago I ventured off to SF's Chinatown and flicked up a store front with some inspiring yet D.I.Y-able clutches.
My idea for this gem was muy facil (Less than 5 minutes) but just enough to say "This bitch is mine!" whenever asked "Whose purse is this?" Kinda like Samuel L. Jackson and his "BAD MOTHERFUCKER" wallet. :)

Timeline Treasures: Embroidery 101
When I'm hiding from the terrorist squad known as my kids in the bathroom, I try to maximize this peaceful potty session with a quick look at my Facebook Timeline to see what sort of ratchetness is taking place. Today's little gem comes from the Etsy page and it's a great homage to a craft skill I hold dear to my heart as well.
Embroidery is one of mi favoritos of crafting and this piece embodies all the fun stitches needed in a stitchers back pocket. A great reminder of how simple and awesome a project can be with just a lil bit of crafty ingenuity.
Here's a link to Etsy's How To on embroidery basics as well: http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/how-tuesday-back-to-school-embroidery/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Internal&utm_campaign=Editorial

¡Glue Gun Glory!
I zazzed up my glue gun today. I'm not going to recommend doing this to your own glue gun as it could be a fire hazard (a risk I was willing to take in the name of cuteness). I don't need no one suing my ass.

¡Hot Glue Galore!
Another night of speed crafting is under the belt. A few breaks for Baby Joons to hit up the titty tap and a couple cartoon changes for Mijo were my only real interruptions while I got crazy with the glue gun. Not wanting to get too deep into a specific project, I decided to hit up some pieces that need a bit of TLC. Quick and rewarding, I added some zazz to my stepdaughter's room and my fabulous graying hair (Ugh!).
Birthday Presents On A Budget: The Family Pollock Masterpiece
My BD's bday just passed and I thought I'd share this easy gift-giving idea that can include all family/crew members. A low-key fan of fine art, the BD appreciates a good piece of creativity and who better than Los Cinco Babies to be the authors of something so lovely as a huge canvas of our best work.
Now trying to plan what exactly was going to be painted was a lil bit harder than difficult when you have 4 different kids with 4 different ideas. Using my genius mom ingenuity, I convinced them of the debauchery that could come of freestyle hand print painting. Frightfully rad, these humanoids agreed on said idea and so began the paint flinging.
From the littlest Mija to the oldest Mijo, all 5 babies had the time of their lives making this canvas awesome for their Poppa's Bornday. Even I got in on the fun. Rave reviews for this project were abound after it was all said and done. Our canvas incidentally gave a nod to the uber-dope Jackson Pollock, which allowed me to interject some art history knowledge on the niños. None of them gave a damn cause the feel of squishy paint in their hands was way cooler than listening to some crazy mom-lady. Can't really argue with them on that one either.
We started this project weeks before and hid it in plain sight because it was fun for the kids to watch their dad pass right by it and never see it. The night of its unveiling, the kids replaced a familiar piece of art with the masterpiece we created, bringing an already delighted daddy to full tilt mode stoked. The BD loved the family collabo and even gave me an extra butt squeeze for being spectacular. <3*sigh*<3
A few bottles of paint, a canvas and a shitload of love & good vibes: All for about Free99... My favorite price!

As Seen On Etsy!
My parents have a new obsession and its collecting small ass $$$ succulents from all over the world and wouldn't you know it, a week after learning about their new passion, Etsy posts this image on their Facebook of someone's (I forgot who) great creation.
Sick right?
Time to get your wino on and create a dope living habitat for some equally banging plants.
Incapsulating The Moment For The Future: Memory Jars
I'm pretty sure I've said it before on this blog thing but I'll gladly say it again: I'm a very lucky lady. I have a beautiful family that shows love in some of the most creative of ways. This pic above is a technique Mijo likes to use called "Ripping up my garden." Everyday, throughout his daily attack agenda, he brings me in bouquets of sticks, leaves, ripped up bunches of grass, flowers, weeds and sometimes a rock or two. Each gift is given with the cutest of faces and the biggest of natural, genuine love from my baby.(OooOoooOOOooo, I'm getting all teary!) I can't bear to just throw these natural gifts back in the yard to decompose, but there surely is not a scrapbook existing that could hold the mass amount of flora I receive.

The solution was a Schmucker's jar I had in my cabinet of containers. With the lid to match, I've been able to store all of Mijo's findings and enjoy looking at them as well. My thoughts, were to at some point make a potpourri out of it, but as of right now when I open the cap to add more, the jar has its own perfume going on... *cough* *cough*
Projects like these help me preserve these precious innocent times for when I'm an old Viagra hustling cat lady.
Meow!
Going Down To Crafty Town!
Fact: I love living in Cali.
We got all kinds of cool places to visit throughout the state that makes you say, "I love this place!" Plain and simple. (Women, Weed & Weather? Thats how the song goes right?) We BBQ on Christmas. Wear sandals and shorts all year. I believe we even started that god-awful guilty pleasure of wearing Uggs with mini jean skirts and just about anything else. This state is fuckin great! Being that I am centrally located in this golden place, I am able to experience the awesomeness mi tierra has to offer within hours if not minutes, tops. I recently made the 3 hour tour to SF for a quick jaunt in their magical streets to see what was crackin and boy did I come back high on inspiration.
First up were these bad ass lil keychains outta Chintatown, made of colorful threads and the most detailed of felt pieces; these bushes immediately had me feeling like a second rate crafter. I mean this stuff was legit!
The selection of monitos was vast. From Harry Potter to Hello Kitty, these keychains could probably make anyone smile no matter what the steez. I couldn't have had enough time to gawk at these cute lil things so I made a mental note to Google such projects. TO DO!
Next: DOPE AS F*$#! CLUTCHES!
I had to hold the damn phone when I started walking past this store front. Killer swag was going down in these window displays for the low low price of $14.95 and most of these clutches could be concocted at my craft table. Too much to take in such a small amount of time, I had to flick the scene. Take a gander at these hot pieces:
If your even reading this blog and have an inkling of crafting blood in you, these flicks got a lil something tingling in ya. NO DOUBT! Makes me glad that my collection of random purses remains in my crafty lair. MUHAHAHAHAHA.
To cap off this adventure, mi esposo gifted me this super beautiful scarf I found in the depths of some really weird C-Town discount store. It was a 5 dolla-make-u-holla kinda deal too, so it made me love it that much more. Perhaps its a knockoff design of someone expensive-like, but the colors melted my soul and I had to have it. The photo doesn't show the shimmer, but the color scheme is so off the charts that I think any outfit will pop with this. Who cares if this shit is knockoff anyways right? Isn't that chick Bethanny Frankel making that the new thing to do? Rich people buying knockoffs...? So confusing!
My trip did drop me off on Haight for a wee bit but that parking situation is too much to handle! I grabbed some pizza and Ben &Jerry's and gave that spot the deuces! I had enough inspiration from the streets of Chinatown to call this trip a success. SUCCESS!
NOW, MUST CRAFT!
