¡CraftCrap Attack: Hot Wheel Car Garage/# Recognition!
Back at it again with a repurpose project. This one is a bit Pintrest inspired. I'm sure you folks have seen it around. The purpose is to get kids (my mijo) to recognize and associate basic numbers. Heres my take on it with a huge ass box! Check it:
Two really important supplies and one Extra Really IMPORTANT Note:
Cutting instrument and a box. And: !BECAREFUL!DON'T CUT YOURSELF!
Start off cutting two parallel slits. Imagine your making doors. It helps.
Ok next, get your cutting thing (scissors, box cutter, etc.) and score the top part of your door like so. If you don't know what score means, its like making a real good scratch or not-cutting all the way through. This step helps your door open and shut.
Alright now we finish up the door with the bottom cut straight across. With your blade, cut two slits and score above the cuts to make this lil "door handle." Same idea as before just on a smaller scale.
We got doors people!!!! Now go along and make as many doors as your box or you can take/want. I started in the middle which wasn't exactly a great idea but it didn't seem to make much of a difference in the end.
The box I used got me a total of 8 garage door openings. Cool point to note about this project, the more different the box the more unique this idea can be. Think 2 story parking garage. Or add additional "buildings."
I decided to spray paint the door area of the box because it took away (a lil bit) from it being a box. Didn't spray the whole thing because in the end this box is probably going to be destroyed from use and I can't see dumping a whole can of Krylon on this. That shit is $$$$$!
Time to add our numbers. My son is going to be starting Kindergarten soon so its about time we get this number stuff down. You could totally do letters too. I used my Craftsmart paint pens from Michael's (and a Sharpie one). I'm not paid by them to say I use their stuff (Psssh! I wish!). I'm just telling you because they come in a pack of 5 for about $5. You really can't beat the price and trust I've looked.
Mijo pulled out his whips and we were ready to number those up with the quickness. A lil help from some Gorilla Tape made it happen.
And there you have it. Math magic in a box. Literally.
Here's a full pic of the project.
"Is this trash?" Probably one of my favorite questions to ask!

¡CraftCrap Quickie: In-n-Out in 30 Mins or Less!
The pistol charm is one of those things where you find a trinket and throw it in your CraftCrap stash cause you know its a sick find but you just don't know when or where you might need it. The time was now!

Me and that E6000 tube made some love. Straight up! Two rings and a couple of faux-turquoise hair clips. Fixed my Hello Kitty mirror. The jewel area had some serious wear so I took it up a notch. Glitter makes everything better!
The skulls came from a necklace I had that was more of a strangling device around my neck than a cute accessory. I can't wait for these kids to get a lil bigger… 0:) (not really tho!)
Alright thats it!

¡CraftCrap Attack: Cheap Sunglasses Revamp!
Over here in the Cali-parts of the United States, our Winter is having a bit of a personality problem thus leaving its citizens with no other choice but to keep the summertime tactics in full GO!-mode. (They got a new shipment of swimsuits in at Target the other day! Holy what the!! ITS JANUARY!
Talk about the golden state!) I also believe its all a lil Fukushima related but lets not get into that right now...
Being of mixed Latina heritage, my face is a lil unique. Its not round or a pear or a heart or oblong or square. Its me. And no matter what B.A.G's (Big Ass Glasses) always fit my face. I quit buying high-end glasses because I'm a Mom now and my kids like to throw my glasses off my face/head and I just can't afford that shit. Marshalls/Ross/TjMaxx are usual the hot spots for cheap stylish joints but trip out, 99cents Stores often carry Claire's/Icing-type accessories (at least the one near me does) and I've found some amazeball sunglasses there! These ones right here though are from a trade off I did with my sister awhile back.
The pic above is of some of my favorite CraftCrap supplies, provided by the G'Ma of course. I grabbed up this Aleene's Glass & Bead glue I had for this project as opposed to my favorite E6000 because the glasses are a slick kind of plastic and so are the flowers/beads. After a couple of days letting them cure, I feel like I made the right decision.
Onward GLUE!!!!
I added that lil iridescent ball/bead on the side but it fell off. Its all good tho, still look banging!
Freakin schweet right!! So many ideas start flowin when you get into this project. You suddenly lose the urge to want to spend hella $$$ on some cool guy specs when you can make these hot lil mamas for a fraction of the cost and be unique as a mofo! Plus, with all the savings from being a DIY aficionado you can treat yourself to a caffeinated drink and a selfie hug because yeah, your awesome like that.
Heres some new ones I got in the works, inspired by Krishna and sarape blankets:
Get to creating foos!!! AHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

¡CraftCrap Attack: Styrofoam Packaging + Tshirt= Doll Furniture!
This is the beginnings of a fabulously quick Barbie doll-sized couch made out of some styrofoam packaging and a T-Shirt that was headed towards the give-away box. Peep game folks:
These weird looking styrofoam things came out of a recently acquired television and the shapes screamed doll furniture. My baby girl got her first set of Barbie-esque dolls and I figured what a great way to repurpose and make baby happy at the same damn time!
I had a total of 3 premo pieces but one was basically begging to be upholstered already so I ran with that one.
Ran over to the #CraftCrapRV to see what we had in reusable clothing. My stepdaughter had tossed this lil pink & grey Betty in. Because we love anything Sunshine related (its her middle name!) I saved the image side for another potential project. (I love supplies that just keep on giving!) Chopped that sucka up and teased my styrofoam with a can of spray glue...
Now this part was kinda tricky because like many projects I do, I get really excited really quickly and I don't think. I just do. The tshirt size was just about perfect I thought but it turns out I didn't consider the material covering the whole piece of styrofoam...
Yeah.
But whatevers, we're talking about a 2 year old baby. She aint got no time for that!
To spray glue-ing we go!
Made sure to keep the fabric as even as possible on all sides. This part is def sticky but once you got your most important points of the styrofoam (i.e.: the edges!) covered its basically smoothing sailing; except for these lil corner parts:
Nothing a quick snip and tuck couldn't fix tho!
BOOMSHAKALAKA Peoples!! We have a Barbie-sized couch with additional pillows made out of scraps and an old baby sock that just so happened to be near me (Anything can get it! Trust!)
JoonJoon decided to make a blanket out of the scraps too. Smart ass baby! Freakin brilliant I tell you!
Heres some evidence of our new couch at work:

All in all about 15 minutes and a whole day of happy JoonJoon = Totally Worth It.
Trash to Fantash. Thats like Fantastic Trash. Its what CraftCrap is all about!
XoXo,

¡CraftCrap Profile!: Gamerosity
The CraftCrap blog supports Manny & his Gamerosity movement 100% and you should too! It doesn't take much and you can make a difference in a child's life TODAY! Not tomorrow! TODAY!!
I'm not paid to post this either btw. Manny is a former classmate and childhood friend. He's also a pediatric cancer survivor. During his fight, he used a Gameboy to ease the anxiety and stress of doctor visits and treatments. His experience planted a seed that has now grown into Gamerosity which has given the gift of tablets & gaming consoles to a ton of cancer-fighting kids! There are still a bunch of Little Heroes that need our help in making the most of their situation.
Peep this link to see some of the strongest lil human beings on this planet:

Ill be posting up more about these Super Heroes and Gamerosity in the future so stay tuned!

This is the new homie Jack. His my Mo-in-Laws sidekick and the newest CraftCrap member. He's even sporting a CraftCrap original made out of one of the finest socks I have. Please give him a warm welcome!
¡CraftCrap Quickie: Vitamin Jar Revamp!
Suppers everyone!
I got a quick and super Duh easy repurpose suggestion for you fancy folks.
My kids are convinced these Target brand gummy vitamins I give them are just candies waiting to be devoured. Don't get me wrong, they taste good. (REALLY GOOD actually.) I just try to keep them from OD-ing on sweet tasting essential nutrients. Lol!
The plastic jar these beneficial bears come in, is a great spot for findings and crap or in my case glue sticks.
