#CraftCrapQuickie 4 @WiseLatinasLink: Chingona Charms Revamp

Hey now! The super awesome ladies of @WiseLatinasLink asked me for a tutorial on how I made these pretty sweet vibrant bangles for a recent #CraftCrapQuickie I posted, and of course I couldn't wait to jump on it for y'all! I whipped up this quick revamp project because I got so tired of finding these kinds of bracelets in my jewelry box because a lot of times they end up being the MAIN reason all my other jewels are tangled. So to fix that problema and make sure to have the sunny-weather outfits SUPER rockin, follow my lil how-to here to keep your drawers lookin wayyy cleaner then they probably are right now (huh cochina??! 😜) AND step your accessory game up to CHINGONA status in the greenest most fantastical way possible!

This project is super awesomesauce because the more random the mo betta ur bangles are gonna look. TRUST!

Here's the ingredients your gonna need:

-Glue/Adhesive

I found this one at the 99 cents store and its pretty awesome. Strong bond and dries fairly clear. E6000 another fav!

-Scissors

-Embroidery Floss
The more random, the better. Unless your looking to color coordinate with an outfit. Then of course. Don't listen to me.

-Bangle Bracelets
You probably have some lying around, but in case you don't you can get a whole bunch at your local Claire's-kinda stores or check out the party favor departments of your favorite Walmart-ish stores for cheap options as well. Psssh! Even a chunky bangle will probably work. Oh! Another idea for the babies! Grab those cardboard toilet rolls, cut and tape them to size of your favorite doll/monito's wrist/arm and now you have blank accessories you can customize with this tutorial for los ninos!!! YOU LOVE ITTTTTT!!

-Charms
These cute lil things always make a an accessory unique and can be found in your old jewelry you don't wear any more, thrift stores are just stacked with them or just pick some up at your fav craft/bead store.

*LIGHTBULB MOMENT*
If you don't think you have charms, use your cesos and think of lil monitos from the 50 cent prize machine and grab some Eye-Pins (Found in the Jewlery Department of your Fav Craft Store) and stick them into your monito (If its plastic = easy peasy) or wrap them around it instead. A dab of E-6000 should make them secured-charms! Now were talking OOAK (One Of A Kind)!!!

1st:
Grab yourself a piece of embroidery floss (length-size your choice) and place the end on the backside of the bangle (as seen in the photo). Bring the end around and place a dot of glue on it so that the embroidery floss is glued to itself. TIP: Make sure that the floss is wrapped TIGHT around the bangle other wise you will have problems.

2nd:
With your fingers, hold that freshly glued end down and begin to wrap the rest of the floss around the bangle being sure to cover that end your finger is holding down with the floss as well. Again, the length of the floss is all up to you. You may want less or more of a color. Remember that randomness makes this project super fantastic! When your done wrapping give that finished end a small dot of glue so that it again, adheres to itself.

3rd:
Now, if you decided to go mono-colored on me, this step would come before the final gluing of your floss. We're going for hella color so this is the part where we switch the colors up and it can get a lil fumbly with the fingers, so hang on k?!

Want to add a different color? As my G'ma would say: PURA ATTTTENNSHUNN!!

Drop a small dot of glue in the same spot that you just finished your last wrapping and begin again by gluing the new floss to itself and then wrapping over the end of your previous floss wrapping. (Keep that wrap TIGHT too! NO LOOSE WRAPS!!! This not only secures your colors as your finishing them but also keeps it muy professional looking when it doneskis!
WRAPPPPPPPPPP IT UPPPPPP!!!! WRAPPPP IT UPPPP! WRAP! IT! UPPPP!!!!! And keep going, adding more and more colors... BUT WAIT... THERE'S MORE!!

4th
The moment you've been waiting for. Time to add charms!! You don't have to add just one either? Get extra jazzy with it and add as much as you like throughout the wrap-process. In case your like awwww man cause you could have been charming it up... Make another one! You can't ever have too many que no?!

In the middle of wrapping, throw in your best charms, making sure to keep the charm wrapped on the OUTSIDE of the bracelet so that it doesn't end up bothering you from being wrapped tight on the INSIDE of the bangle.

And thats it. Secure it with your floss until the bracelet is completely covered in your creativity and flash on those not knowing how fabulous your crafty skills really are!!!

This has been a #craftcrapquickie for @WiseLatinasLink. Follow them on Twitter where you can also catch me ranting and raving all kinds of things @CraftCrapQueen. Thanks for stopping by!!!

The Haps 2015 Part 2

And another one! Back at it again at my end of the dining room table with the my craftastic ways of making a mess.
Ya know something tells me I should work on a catalog but the human body can only take so much crafting honestly.
I wish it were different. Trust me when I say that!

Here's that new new for the Pochaloca store:

I took a quick snack break in between all that and had me a homemade burger... Why they always gotta taste bomb tho? Then I get all Sleepy girl with it and cant finish my projects!! DAMNNN A GOODBURGERRR!!!!

And back to work...

I know there is probably some sort of confusion as to what the deal is with me promoting this Pochaloca thing, but here's the deal. I figure its not only cross-promotion of my (*dream*) store, but it also kinda shows you (other crafter folks) the bare bones of trying to make a dream come true.  I'm not trying to be a big clothing line, just a store remembered for awesome shit at decent prices. I know that fellow crafters have to be mindful of JUST wanting to be an artist but TRYING to make a profit just to make it to the next project all while being your own P.R. and content creator and every other job description you could think of... So yeah. Thats it. Just sharing the fantastic finishes that I sometimes manage to create over on my Etsy store. I think if you follow me on Twitter you probably see some of my rants and raves that are non-crafty, but a lot of times those are my inspirations for the things in the store. LIFE. THE PEOPLE IN IT. THE GOOD. THE BAD. THE FUNNY. I love it all. I mean where do you find your inspirations? All over right!?

Back to crafting!

This shirt was an awesome find from the Peterson Auto Museum down in LA from a few years back and while I'm no longer a size small, I STILL haven't broken up with this baddie. Since Summer is right around the corner, I figure I should start revamping the closet with some sweet treats for the coming sticky sweat Verano is gonna bring!
GMa had hooked me up awhile back with some black fringe and this shirt was the perfect reason to use it before the kids kept it for THEIR craft supplies. Freakin cute ass kids... I love that it's a long fringe because while I'm no 20-something-croptop-wearing cutie, the long fringe on this allows me to pretend like maybe I might be a 30-something with a give-no-fucks-kinda-attitude hellbent on raising awesome kids. Maybe. Justttt maybe.

Since the sewing machine was out, the chug chug sound of the needle going up and down pushed me to make my baby girl some pants. Albeit, kinda ill-fitting, she loved these playful/colorful pants. She would wear them for me but I can't bare to see the tight ass elastic marks on her hips cause momma don't know how to measure correctly... Lol.
Instead of wardrobe I think I'll stick to just making pillow cases for now... I think I'm pretty substantial at it! Ha!

Last but not least I gotta share a couple of thrift store gems I came up on after a visit to the Merlin Bargain Center! That place is the beez knees people!! Folks out in the Pacific Northwest love them some Trading Outposts. Basically they are thrift stores with the awesome added feature of TRADING stuff as well. While I had nothing to trade, I did have a pocket full-o-greenbacks hanging out in the hubby's wallet so you know it was go time!
Peep this instructional mag I picked up for $3.50! Originally $2.00 it now re-sells on average for about $30! WTF?! It was like a magnet. I saw it and never stopped my walking towards it. We were meant for each other. How cool is the back cover though? You see all those other ones?!? I wish I had them all. It appears that it used to be a subscription thing back in the days that unfortunately no longer exists but the publishing house does and they make some cool drawing/art books.

Then the hubby found this and it was over. My heart was officially about to be left in this Bargain DREAM Center! Again another $3.00 and she was all mine. Mine indeed. I was kinda hiding it in my cart hoping no one was gonna stalk me thinking I'd put it back... cause thats totally something I would do!

Alright Fam! Thats it for now. I gotta work on some other posts that have been sitting waiting to be launched. I'll work on that banner so we look appropriate over here and you get back to making awesome stuff!!!
