Omg! Omg! OMFG IT'S HOTTTTTTTTTTTT! I live in one of those places that gets all triple digit burn your brain up and kill your makeup kinda hot. The only thing acceptable to wear in weather like this is your birthday suit. Straight up! But seeing as that's probably a no-go for Target runs, I've had to figure out some better options using my mommy budget of $0.00.
First up was an already made pair of jean shorts I had and some of that lace I told you my GMa bartered for a while back. Well I had got excited on a previous project with RIT dye and attempted to dye some of it black... Well it came out navy blue-ish. No biggie tho cause a few snips of the scissors and sum E-6000:BLAMO! These lil bitches got jazzed up all cherry!
Next up, I raided my CraftCrap closet to add a few new additions to my shorts drawer. All the fabric used was from clearance bins at Walmart & Joann's. Nothing over $3.00. It's how I roll.

After I zipped these up I added some zazz with these studs that originally came off my punk belt from my youthful days of "eclectic" fashion (that's what my GMa would say ). The studs were repurposed once before on to a jacket my kids said looked like something Michael Jackson would wear (uhhhhh....) and now again on these sweet little Bettie's.
My sister already called dibs on these. And she never really likes anything I make so that must be a good thing!
Here's the other materials that got some time in on my machine:
The safari one was from Walmart for like $3.00 and the other one is from Joann's for like $2.50 .
Because the shorts take so little material (like a yard or so) to make, there is plenty of scraps left and because of the cuts made, the remnant shapes left over had me making all kinds of baby projects like this head scarf w/ studs!
My GMa put me up on game last summer on how to make these and boy am I glad I paid attention cause the Sun ain't got no mercy for us this season!!! Lawwdddd have mercyyyyyy!!!!!
